WEEKEND SPECIAL Mark King Numbered Serigraph Myrtle Beach Dunes Golf. South Carolina. Golf Course. Golfer. Golf Art
This 1991 serigraph XL/CXLV is part of Golf Series III which includes four prints and this one depicts Myrtle Beach Dunes Golf. Mark King, a champion of Impressionism and the École de Paris, was born in Bombay in 1931 of British parents. After living and studying in England, Paris, and Italy, he moved finally to the United States in 1968. "Fascinated with painting techniques, King meticulously layers colors, glazes and shapes as substrate to the five or ten percent of the acrylic paint that floats on top and forms the finished composition. The underpainting filters through to the surface creating depth and texture. Because of his alla prima approach, in which a painting is realized in a burst of inspiration, and single application of pigments, King relates, 'It is not until the last ten to fifteen minutes before completion that I am able to see where the painting is going and catch the mood of the moment.'" This pieces measures 15 x 20 inches unframed, but comes to you professionally framed as shown including a COA tucked into a pocket on the back.
